AWANA is a Christian program for children whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to help train them to serve the Lord. The acronym AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” which is a reference to a statement made by the Apostle Paul that is found in I Timothy 2:15.
The program begins with children as young as 3 years old. They start out in the Cubbies group; Kindergarten through 2nd graders are placed in the Sparks group; and the Truth and Training group is provided for 3rd-6th graders.
AWANA meets on Friday nights between 6:40-8:30 P.M. and runs from September to June. The program provides a wholesome environment that is filled with games and spiritual challenges- all designed to write God’s Word on each kid’s heart through workbooks and Scripture memorization. AWANA also provides many special events each year such as miniature derby car racing, movie nights, AWANA Olympic games, Bible quiz competitions, local hikes, and more.

AWANA now offers a new jr. high program called Trek. Visit us on “club night” and find out what God is doing here with our kids. For further information, please call Kevin Ellwell, Pastor of Children's and Youth Ministries at (310) 826-8374, ext. 107.
