Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. There are many people both here in the United States of America and elsewhere throughout the world who have never heard the name of Jesus. They have never heard of His message of hope and salvation and the possibility of unimaginable peace through forgiveness. The mission statement of the First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles proclaims that we as a congregation " exist in order to introduce people to the Lord Jesus Christ and help them become His wholly devoted followers." It is not surprising, therefore, to learn that there has been a long standing, strong emphasis upon Missionary work. The First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles has a standing Missions Committee in addition to the Women's Missionary Fellowship who work to care for the needs of our supported missionaries and to keep our congregation informed about what God is doing in and through their ministries all over the world.
