Missions

The Missionary Enterprise

Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Mathew 28:18-20)

There are many people both here in the United States of America and elsewhere throughout the world who have never heard the name of Jesus. They have never heard of His message of hope and salvation and the possibility of unimaginable peace through forgiveness. The mission statement of the First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles proclaims that we as a congregation " exist in order to introduce people to the Lord Jesus Christ and help them become His wholly devoted followers." It is not surprising, therefore, to learn that there has been a long standing, strong emphasis upon Missionary work. This page has been provided to expose you worldwide missions and how this congregation is contributing to that effort.

The First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles has a standing Missions Committee in addition to the Women's Missionary Fellowship who work to care for the needs of our supported missionaries and to keep our congregation informed about what God is doing in and through their ministries all over the world.
